FGMNG 20th June Session

'Fore' Get Me Not Golf Charity Day 2024 Friday 3rd May

A fantastic turnout of 48 players took to course to raise funds for Dereham Golf Club's "Fore" Get Me Not Golf initiative.

The atmosphere before, during and after the Team Scramble was amazing, even if the weather didn't quite play ball.
Bravest Team of the Day award went to our friends from Home Instead, half of whom turned up wearing shorts!!

The best news is that, thanks to the generosity of our members and guests, between the golf, the raffle, the auction (masterfully handled by Tim Sims) and the half way house, we raised a jaw dropping £1,700.

We were pleased to welcome "Fore" Get Me Not Golf founder Tony Pennock to Dereham Golf Club for this event, who kindly gave a speech on the past and the future of this brilliant initiative, and also presented the prizes to our winners.

Session 1

An amazing turnout for out first Fore Get Me Not Golf session. After everyone getting out onto the putting green, a few moved on to playing the first hole.
Thank you to our kind volunteers who helped make today possible, be it by providing the 1to1 support or by donating the very delicious cake enjoyed by all. Thank you also to Sarah and Stuart for all their continuing hard work in getting this initiative off the ground at Dereham Golf Club.
The biggest thank you goes to our attendees and the family & friends. The smiles, laughter and enjoyment makes it all worthwhile.

We can't wait to see you all again for our next session on Thursday 21st March.

Volunteer Training Session

We were please to welcome Wendy from Home Instead who kindly provided some training to our Fore Get Me Not Golf volunteers. This was provided to help us understand the lived experiences of people living with dementia, and how we can provide support and opportunities within our sessions.
